[H]ospital Care

Hospitals are important, but over-utilized facilities (sorry, hospital administrators).  Although we do maintain privileges at local hospitals, ResponsiCareSM provides primarily outpatient services. In order to provide the highest quality of care in the outpatient setting, we often utilize Hospitalists (doctors specially trained to care for hospitalized patients) to admit and follow inpatients. We are kept informed about your hospital stay by the Hospitalist during and after your hospitalization. Studies show that Hospitalists provide very competent care, and their efficiency and clinical outcomes may even be superior to the traditional model of care you may be familiar with. The vast majority of care delivered to our patients will be in the outpatient setting, and more and more primary care physicians are utilizing Hospitalists to care for their patients. Your quality of life is our number one goal, and that means it is more important for us to focus on keeping you OUT of the hospital! Thankfully, we’re good at it. In fact, feedback from our insurers has shown that our hospitalization rates are low compared to our peers (see News tab).  Many times we will admit our own pediatric patients as there are sometimes no local pediatric hospitalist services. For more information visit the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hospital_medicine
